Authorship Criteria

Authorship Criteria

The Journal of Multidisciplinary Education, published by CV. Cerdas Nusantara Publisher, is committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in authorship attribution. Authorship should be granted only to individuals who have made substantial intellectual or scholarly contributions to the research and manuscript.

1. Criteria for Authorship

All individuals listed as authors must meet the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contribution: Have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study, the collection, analysis, or interpretation of data, or the development of the research framework.

  2. Manuscript Preparation: Have participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.

  3. Final Approval: Have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.

  4. Accountability: Agree to be accountable for their contributions and to help ensure that questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All four criteria must be fulfilled for an individual to qualify as an author.

2. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial office throughout the submission, peer-review, revision, and publication processes. The corresponding author must ensure that all listed authors have approved the manuscript, agreed to the author order, and consented to its submission to the journal.

The corresponding author must also provide accurate information regarding author affiliations, email addresses, funding sources, conflicts of interest, and other required declarations.

3. Author Order and Changes in Authorship

The order of authors should be agreed upon by all authors before submission and should reflect their respective contributions to the research.

Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be accompanied by a written explanation and the agreement of all affected authors. The journal reserves the right to suspend editorial processing while the request is being reviewed.

4. Contributors Who Do Not Qualify for Authorship

Individuals who provide technical assistance, administrative support, language editing, proofreading, or general supervision without meeting all authorship criteria should not be listed as authors. Their contributions may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section, with their permission.

Individuals or organizations that provide funding, institutional support, or access to research facilities do not automatically qualify for authorship.

5. Prohibition of Unethical Authorship Practices

The journal does not permit:

  • Gift or honorary authorship: Listing individuals who have not made qualifying scholarly contributions.

  • Ghost authorship: Omitting individuals who have made substantial contributions and meet the authorship criteria.

  • Guest authorship: Including individuals primarily to increase the perceived credibility of a manuscript.

  • Undisclosed authorship changes: Altering the author list without the knowledge and agreement of the relevant authors.

Suspected authorship misconduct will be investigated in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and applicable research integrity guidelines.

6. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI systems, cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of scholarly work.

Authors who use AI tools for substantive purposes, such as generating text, analyzing data, or developing research materials, must disclose such use in accordance with the journal's AI policy. Authors remain fully responsible for verifying all content, references, data, and conclusions produced with AI assistance. Routine spelling, grammar, and language editing may be exempt from disclosure if permitted by the journal's policy.

7. Authorship Disputes

The journal encourages authors to resolve authorship disputes through constructive communication and their institutional research integrity procedures. Where necessary, the editorial office may request clarification or supporting documentation from the authors' affiliated institutions.

The journal may pause the review or publication process until a dispute is resolved. Decisions will be made impartially, with due consideration for publication ethics and the rights of all parties involved.

8. Ethical Standards

All authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Multidisciplinary Education are expected to comply with these authorship criteria and uphold the principles of honesty, transparency, accountability, and responsible research conduct.
