Screening for Plagiarism Policy
This statement outlines the ethical behavior that must be followed by all parties involved in the publication process of articles in our journal, especially the authors.
Manuscripts submitted to the journal will be checked for plagiarism using the Turnitin detection tool. Before articles are sent to reviewers, our editorial team will review the similarity or plagiarism score. Submitted manuscripts must have a similarity index below 35%.
Plagiarism is the use of another person’s ideas or words as if they were your own, without proper permission or acknowledgment. This may include direct copying or paraphrasing from other works. To assess plagiarism, we emphasize the following points:
-
Direct Copying: An author may copy text word-for-word from another’s work without permission or acknowledgment. This practice can be identified by comparing the original source and the suspected plagiarized manuscript.
-
Substantial Copying: This involves reproducing significant portions of another’s work without permission or acknowledgment. “Substantial” may be measured in terms of quality or quantity and refers to the relative value of the copied text compared to the entire work.
-
Paraphrasing: This involves taking ideas or phrases from a source and rewriting them into new sentences. However, it becomes unethical if the author does not properly cite or acknowledge the original author. Paraphrasing is one of the most difficult forms of plagiarism to detect.
Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are strictly prohibited. Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If using the work or words of others, these must be clearly stated or properly cited.
Authors must also refrain from publishing the same manuscript in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable publication behavior.
Always give proper credit to the work of others. Authors should cite publications that have influenced their work.
